Multilingualism in the Linguistic Landscape of Culinary Business Names in Palangkaraya

Abstract
Palangkaraya, the capital of Central Kalimantan Province, is one of the urban cities in Indonesia. This makes the city's society a multiethnic, multilingual, and multicultural urban society. The city's ethnic, linguistic, and cultural diversity attracts the research of the linguistic landscape. Writings in multilingual public spaces are also spread across the city of Palangkaraya. This article will discuss the linguistic landscape, especially writings in the bottom-up category of public space by focusing on the names of culinary businesses in Palangkaraya. The method used is descriptive-qualitative as a problem-solving procedure by describing the multilingualism used in culinary business names. Based on the analysis, the language used in culinary business names in Palangkaraya appeared in monolingual, bilingual, and trilingual forms.
