Abstract
This paper revises and deepens earlier analyses of value education for female college and university students in Viet Nam by adding an explicit philosophical lens. Drawing on Marxist humanist conceptions of emancipation, Confucian virtue ethics, feminist care ethics and UNESCO’s holistic Living Values approach, we examine the nature, content and urgency of value formation among young Vietnamese women. The study affirms that a philosophically grounded system of value education is indispensable for advancing gender equality, cultivating the next generation of female intellectuals and realising the humane, socialist oriented transformation of Vietnamese society.
