DOI: 10.18355/XL.2016.09.02.2-10

Abstract
Slovakia and Macedonia are connected each other by several bounds, but research into the Slovak-Macedonian relations is without a long tradition. The author of the article dealt with parallels in oikonymy and he tracked names of settlements derived from the word: birch, swiftly, swift, Austrian oak, apple tree and adler tree. Each settlement of them was designated by the present-day as well as historical form of its name. Finally, the author is concerned with etymologies of the settlements names.
